A song made for one person lands differently when it arrives as more than an audio file. This guide covers what you can now do with a song after SongUp AI makes it: send it as a gift page that plays with your message and photo, turn it into a lyric video for Reels, TikTok or YouTube, split it into stems, remix it in another style, and on Pro Plus download a WAV and a printable lyric sheet.
We build SongUp, so the steps use our song extras. Every feature below works on your own song and your own photo. None of it generates AI pictures or AI video.
In short
- Open a song's menu in your library and look under Make it special.
- Gift page: a private link that plays the song with your message (up to 600 characters) and a photo you took. You see when it's opened.
- Lyric video: an MP4 with the words timed to the singing, vertical or widescreen, made in your browser.
- Stems: vocals, drums, bass and the rest as WAV files.
- Remix or extend: the same lyrics in one of 16 styles, or a longer version up to about four minutes.
- Gift page, full lyric video and stems come with every paid song, including one song bought for $2.99. Remix needs a paid plan. WAV and the lyric sheet are Pro Plus and above.

How to send a song as a gift
A personalized song is a popular last-minute gift because it's personal and it's ready in minutes. The gift page is how you hand it over.
- Make the song. Describe who it's for and a few things only you would know: how you met, a nickname, a place, an inside joke. Or paste your own lyrics. Put their name in the description so it ends up in the chorus. On a paid plan this is one of your songs; without a plan, one song is $2.99, paid once.
- Open Send as a gift. In your library, open the song's menu and choose Send as a gift under Make it special.
- Add your message and a photo. Write their name, your name and what you want to say, up to 600 characters. Add a photo of the two of you if you like. It's resized on your phone before it's uploaded, and its location data is removed.
- Send the link. Share it on WhatsApp, by text or by email. They tap Open your gift, and the song plays with your photo and words. They can read the lyrics along with it.
After it's sent you can see when the gift was opened. You can also fix a typo without changing the link, or turn the link off. The person doesn't need an account. Gift pages are never shown in search engines; only someone with the link can open them.
What a custom song usually costs
Songs written by a hired musician cost the most. Songfinch lists its Original Song at $199.99 and its template-based Instant Song at $29.99, and OurSong charges $49.95 (both checked in October 2026). Those are made by people and take days. A SongUp AI song is composed by our AI music engine from your story in minutes, for $2.99 paid once, and it comes with the gift page. More ideas are on the custom song gift page, with seasonal versions for Christmas and Valentine's Day.
How to make a lyric video of your song
A lyric video is the simplest way to post a song on social media: the words carry the video, so you don't need footage.
- Open the song's menu and choose Lyric video under Make it special.
- Pick the shape: vertical (9:16) for Reels, TikTok and YouTube Shorts, or widescreen (16:9) for a YouTube video.
- SongUp AI listens to the song once to time each line of the lyrics to the singing.
- The video is drawn in your browser, line by line, over the colours of the song's cover. It takes about as long as the song itself, so keep the tab open.
- Download the MP4 and post it.
Two honest limits. If the timing can't be worked out for a song, the lines are spread evenly through it instead, and the dialog says so. And instrumentals have no words, so they don't get a lyric video.
On a free account you can try it on a 30-second clip with SongUp AI branding. Paid songs get the whole song with no branding.
How to get the stems of your song
Stems are the separate parts of a song. With them you can make a karaoke version (everything but the vocals), a remix, a backing track for singing live, or a new mix in your own DAW.
Open the song's menu, choose Stems, and the song is split into vocals, drums, bass and the rest. Each part downloads as a WAV file named after the song, so they stay in order when you drop them into Ableton, FL Studio, Logic or GarageBand. This comes with every paid song.
For a song you didn't make on SongUp, the free Stem Separator does the same in your browser.
How to remix or extend a song
Sometimes the words are right and the sound isn't. Open the song's menu and choose Remix under Make it special. Pick a new style from 16 ready ones, such as acoustic, lo-fi, rock, jazz or orchestral, or type your own. Or choose the longer take, with an intro, a break and an outro, up to about four minutes.
The new version keeps your lyrics but is composed from scratch, so the tune and the voice can change. Your original song stays as it is, and the remix is a new song in your library. Remix is on paid plans, and each remix uses one song from your plan.
WAV downloads and lyric sheets
Every paid plan downloads songs as MP3. On Pro Plus and above you can also download any song as a WAV file, the uncompressed format many video editors, DJ programs and music distributors ask for.
Pro Plus also adds a lyric sheet: a one-page PDF with the song's title, its sections (verse, chorus, bridge) and the owner's certificate number. Print it for a singer, put it in a frame, or keep it with your release files. The certificate number is the same one on the song's certificate of ownership, which anyone can check on the verify page.

Frequently asked questions
Does the person I'm sending the gift to need an account? No. The gift page opens in any phone or computer browser with no sign-up.
Can I change the message after I've sent the link? Yes. Edit the gift and the same link shows the new message. You can also turn the link off.
Is the lyric video an AI-generated video? No. The words, timed to the singing, are drawn over the song's own cover colours in your browser. No AI pictures or video are generated.
Can I use the stems commercially? Songs made on a paid plan come with commercial rights, and that includes their stems. Free-plan songs are for personal, non-commercial use.
Can I get stems for an instrumental? Yes. An instrumental splits into drums, bass and the other instruments; only the lyric video needs words.
