Follow these steps to make a song with AI for free. The whole process takes about two minutes.

1. 1Open songupai.com and sign up with Google, Facebook, X or email. No credit card is required, and new accounts get 3 free songs.
2. 2Go to Create. Describe the song you want: genre, tempo, instruments, voice, mood and topic. Example: "upbeat pop song at 120 BPM about summer, electric guitar and synths". Under the box, pick the voice: Auto, Female, Male or Duet.

Open Customize & Advanced to set the song language (any of 76, from English and Spanish to Hindi, Arabic and Korean) and to list anything the AI should exclude, such as "vocals", "drums" or "heavy distortion".

• Keep lines short (under about 10 syllables) so they're easy to sing.
• Repeat the hook in the [Chorus]; that's where a name sounds best.
• Spell unusual names the way they sound ("Kay-lee") if the AI mispronounces them.
• Poems work too: mark the lines you want repeated as the chorus.

How it works: a pitch tracker follows your voice note by note in your browser, keeping your own timing. SongUp AI then works out the key, tempo and chords, records a backing in that key and style, and places your melody on top; in Your voice mode your recording is fitted onto the band's beat, and in Sung song mode the singer follows your tune. Hum to Song counts as one song from your plan.

Split any song into individual stems with AI source separation (HTDemucs v4, 172 MB ONNX model). Open it at /tools/stem-separator . No credits are needed; any paid plan unlocks it.

Per-stem controls: Volume fader (0–150%), pan (-1 to +1), mute/solo toggle. Built-in presets include Mute Drums, Mute Bass, Mute Vocals and Karaoke mode. Download the final mix as WAV with adjustable playback speed (0.5x–2x).

#Plan Feature Comparison

#Songs & Allowance

Every plan is counted in songs, and every song counts the same whatever its type. Audio tools that run in your browser (stem separator, mastering and the rest) use nothing. Failed generations never use a song.

Your songs left are shown in the Create studio, and each billing cycle adds your plan's songs. Unused songs roll over while your subscription is active. See how many songs each plan makes at /credit-breakdown .

#Refunds, Cancelling & Payment Methods

• Refunds: payments are non-refundable by default; cancel at least 24 hours before a renewal to stop the next charge (we email you 3 days before, with one tap to stop it). In the Refunds card (Billing), Jennifer remakes a song that came out wrong for free and keeps your unused songs for good with the renewal stopped. In the EU, the EEA and the UK the 14-day right of withdrawal refunds whatever you haven't used. Full rules in the refund policy.
• Cancel any time from Settings → Billing, also from the payment company's own page: either way your plan stays on until the end of the period you paid for.
• Ways to pay: cards everywhere, plus local methods such as UPI, Pix and iDEAL in the countries that use them. Payments go through Merchant of Record checkouts (Creem or Dodo Payments), so SongUp AI never sees your card number.

#Commercial Use, Copyright & Certificates

Songs made on a paid plan, or bought as a single song, are assigned to you with commercial rights. Use them in monetized YouTube videos, TikToks, Reels, Twitch streams, ads, podcasts, games and client work, and release them on streaming platforms, with no royalties owed to SongUp AI. Free-plan songs are for personal, non-commercial use with attribution.

The US Copyright Office protects human authorship, so lyrics you write and melodies you hum are your own work. Read Can you use AI-generated music commercially? for the US and EU rules, and the Terms of Service for the license.

#Release AI Songs on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube & TikTok

1. 1Make the song on a paid plan so it carries commercial rights (Pro and above give you a WAV for the best quality).
2. 2Sign up with a distributor such as DistroKid, TuneCore or CD Baby and check its AI music policy.
3. 3Upload the song, its cover art and the lyrics, and declare AI use where the distributor asks.
4. 4Choose stores: Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, TikTok and Instagram.

The SongUp AI API is a REST API that makes full songs with vocals in 76 languages from a prompt or your own lyrics and returns each song's MP3. Make a key in Settings → API keys and send it as Authorization: Bearer sup_…; API songs use your plan's songs, the same as the website. The OpenAPI spec and examples are on the developers page.

• MCP server: a hosted Model Context Protocol server for Cursor, VS Code, Claude Code, Windsurf, Zapier, Make and n8n, no key needed: setup.
