Do I need a reference track?

No. Without one, the EQ moves your song toward the broad tonal balance of commercial masters. With one, it moves toward that track instead, by up to 6 dB per band and always in smooth, wide curves.
Which loudness should I pick?

Streaming (-14 LUFS) keeps the most punch and is the level Spotify and YouTube play at. Loud (-11 LUFS) is typical for modern pop and hip-hop. Club (-8 LUFS) is for DJ sets and SoundCloud, and it squeezes the dynamics more.

Can AI mastering replace a mastering engineer?
