Sweeping cinematic folk anthem, acoustic guitar, deep drums, swelling strings and a soaring chorus. An anthem for the US state of Alaska, proud, warm, radio quality, clear English diction. [Vocals: male lead vocal] [Lyrics] [Verse 1] Where the midnight sun won't set and the glaciers meet the sea Where Denali holds the sky up high for all the world to see Salmon running silver in a river wide and cold Alaska, you were never made for the timid or the old [Chorus] North to the future, under lights of green and gold Last frontier, you're the bravest story ever told Eight stars on a field of blue, forget-me-nots in bloom Alaska, there's a wildness in me only you can tune [Verse 2] Juneau in the morning mist, Anchorage by night A fishing boat in Kodiak, a bush plane taking flight The Yukon rolls a thousand miles through spruce and frozen ground And the people here are tougher than the winter coming down [Chorus] North to the future, under lights of green and gold Last frontier, you're the bravest story ever told Eight stars on a field of blue, forget-me-nots in bloom Alaska, there's a wildness in me only you can tune [Bridge] When the dark comes early and the snow is on the pass We light the lamps and hold on tight, we always last [Chorus] North to the future, under lights of green and gold Last frontier, you're the bravest story ever told Eight stars on a field of blue, forget-me-nots in bloom Alaska, there's a wildness in me only you can tune
