​În zori de zi, sub cerul tăcut,

At dawn, under the silent sky,

Se-aude un tun răsunând abrupt.

A cannon's abrupt roar is heard.

Pe Știuca-n poligon, cu misiune grea,

On "Știuca" firing range, with a heavy mission,

Regimentul treizeci nouă Artilerie trăgea.

The thirty-ninth Artillery Regiment was firing.

Trage artileria! – răsunet de foc,

Fire the artillery! – an echo of fire,

Tunuri ,obuziere, aruncătoare, ce vuiet și ce șoc!

Cannons, howitzers, mortars, what a roar and what a shock!

În punctul de observare, comandanții cu ochii pe hartă,

At the observation post, commanders with eyes on the map,

Pregătesc comanda, stăpâni pe a lor artă!

Prepare the command, masters of their art!

În poziția de tragere, servanții-s la post,

In the firing position, the gunners are at their posts,

Bateria e gata, totul are un rost.

The battery is ready, everything has a purpose.

Cu ochii pe aparate și înalțatorul potrivit,

With eyes on the instruments and the right elevation,

Așteaptă doar comanda și ordinul primit.

They just await the command and the order received.

​Din punctul de observare, cu binoclu în mână,

From the observation post, with binoculars in hand,

Un brav locotenent scrutează-n lumină.

A brave lieutenant scans the light.

A plecat lovitura! – răsună în val,

The shot has departed! – it echoes in waves,

Și cerul tresaltă la bubuitul final.

And the sky trembles at the final boom.

​Obuze ce cad ca stropi de furtună,

Shells falling like storm drops,

Desenează în vale a oțelului cunună.

Draw in the valley a crown of steel.

Obuziere grele, cu pas apăsat,

Heavy howitzers, with a firm step,

Întregul poligon de viață a vibrat.

The entire firing range vibrated with life.

​Și-n vântul ce bate steagul în zare,

And in the wind that waves the flag in the distance,

Se-aud bravii artileriști, cu glas de onoare:

The brave artillerymen are heard, with voices of honor:

Suntem fiii tunului, suflet de granit,

We are the sons of the cannon, souls of granite,

Când tragem, dușmanul e nimicit!

When we fire, the enemy is annihilated!

​Pe coamele dealului, sub cerul de jar,

On the hilltops, under the fiery sky,

Se-nalță respectul, în fum militar.

Respect rises, in military smoke.

Căci focul e artă, armă și chemare,

For fire is art, weapon, and calling,

În Regimentul treizeci și nouă Artilerie, onoarea nu moare!

In the thirty-ninth Artillery Regiment, honor never dies!

​Păstrăm însă în inimă, cu sufletul pătruns,

But we keep in our hearts, with deeply moved souls,

Camarazii ce-n ceruri la apel au răspuns.

Comrades who answered the call in heaven.

Plecați dintre noi, dar rămași în galerie,

Departed from us, but remaining in the gallery,

Veghează din stele brava Artilerie.

They watch from the stars over the brave Artillery.

​Iar toamna, când zece Noiembrie vine,

And in autumn, when November tenth comes,

Tradiția pe toți ne adună și susține.

Tradition gathers and sustains us all.

Ne strângem din nou, veterani și frați de tun,

We gather again, veterans and brothers of the gun,

Să depănăm amintiri din trecutul străbun.

To reminisce about memories from the ancient past.

​Să fim sănătoși, artileriști dintr-o bucată,

Și fruntea sus, cum am fost altădată!

And heads held high, as we once were!

Paharul ridicăm pentru neam și destin,

We raise a glass for our nation and destiny,

Cu onoare și respect mereu să ne cinstim!

May we always honor ourselves with honor and respect!

Iar când timpul va trece și un an va zbura,

And when time passes and a year flies by,

La fel de uniți noi aici ne-om vedea!
