خالد ، يا رفيقَ العُمرِ ومُهْجَتِه

Khaled, O companion of life and its soul,

يا مَن لهُ فِي فُؤادِي مَنْزِلٌ سَلَمِي

O you whose dwelling in my heart is peaceful.

أُهْدِيكَ مِن نَبْضِ قَلبِي اليومَ قَافِية

Uhdiika min nabḍi qalbī al-yawma qāfiyah

I dedicate to you from my heart's pulse today a rhyme,

تَلِيقُ بالعِلمِ، لا تَكفِي بِها كَلِمِي

Worthy of knowledge, my words are not enough for it.

يا خالدَ الحُبِ ، يا مَن صَاغَ مِن فكره

Yā Khālida al-ḥubbi, yā man ṣāgha min fikrih

O Khaled of love, O you who fashioned from his thought

دُرَرًا ، فَأصْبَحَ فِي الآفَاقِ كَالعَلَمِ

Pearls, so he became like a banner in the horizons.

كَتَبْتَ عَجَائِبَ الِاسْتِغْفَارِ » فاسْتَنَارتْ

You wrote "Wonders of Istighfar," and it enlightened

دُرُوبُ رُوحٍ ، و أحْييتَ بِها الهِمَمِ

Durūbu rūḥin, wa aḥyayta bihā al-himami

Paths of a soul, and with it you revived spirits.

و « عَجَائِبُ الدعاءِ » كُنتَ فِيهِ مُؤتَمَن

And in "Wonders of Du'a," you were entrusted

على المَعَاني، و عَلى أَسْرَارِ ذي النَّعَمِ

With meanings, and with the secrets of the blessed one.

و في « الإبحَارِ في سَالِفِ الأخْبَارِ » قد

Wa fī "al-ibḥāri fī sālifi al-akhbāri" qad

And in "Sailing in Ancient News," you have

أبْحَرتَ وَحْدَكَ في بَحْرٍ مِنَ القِدَمِ

Abḥarta waḥdaka fī baḥrin mina al-qidamī

Sailed alone in a sea of antiquity.

حتى أَتَيتَ بـ « الدُّرّةِ اليَتِيمِيَةِ » التي

Ḥattā atayta bi "al-durrati al-yatīmiyyati" allatī

Until you brought "The Unique Pearl," which

أودَعتَ فيها نَفِيسَ الدُرِّ والقِيَمِ

You entrusted with precious pearls and values.

و اليومَ « الخِلاَصُ النَقِيُّ » قَد أشّرَقتْ

Wa al-yawma "al-khalāṣu al-naqiyyu" qad ashraqat

And today, "The Pure Salvation" has dawned,

صَفحَاتُهُ، فَغَدا للعلمِ كالعَلَمِ

Its pages, so it became like a banner for knowledge.

كأنَّ حَرفَكَ حِينَ خَطَّهُ قَلم

Ka-anna ḥarfaka ḥīna khaṭṭahu qalam

As if your letter, when your pen wrote it,

أَهْدَى إلى الفِكرِ صُبحًا بَعدَ مُعْتَتِمِ

Gifted thought a morning after darkness.

فَخرٌ أراكَ بهِ، و الحُبُّ يَجْمَعُنَا

I see pride in you, and love unites us,

فَكَيفَ أُخْفِي اِعْتِزَازِي وهو في دَمِي ؟

So how can I hide my pride when it's in my blood?

فَامْضِ حَبيبي، وخُذْ كُلَّ أمنيةٍ

Fa-amḍi ḥabībī, wa khudh kulla umniyah

So go forth, my darling, and take every wish,

أن يَسْتَمِرَّ لكَ التوفيقُ والظَّفَرِ

An yastamirra laka al-tawfīqu wa al-ẓafarī

That success and triumph continue for you.

وأن تَظَلَّ لنا فَخرًا أُردّدُهُ

Wa an taẓalla lanā fakhran uraddiduh

And that you remain a pride for us that I repeat,

ما دَامَ بيني وبينَ العُمرِ مُدَّخَرِ

As long as there is life reserved between me and it.

من زَوجًةٍ رأتْ فيكَ المَجدَ مُكْتَمِلًا

From a wife who saw in you complete glory,

فأحبَّتكَ الرُوحُ قَبلَ العَينِ و البَصرِ

So her soul loved you before her eye and sight.
