قَالَتْ مُنَى اليَوْم بدري يَا هَاجِسِي lyrics

قَالَتْ مُنَى اليَوْم بدري يَا هَاجِسِي جِبْ قَصِيدَهْ

Qālat Munā al-yawm badrī yā hājisī jib qaṣīdah

Muna said today, early, my muse, bring a poem

سَعْدَنْ بِهَا لَا تَأَخَّرْ فَالوَضْع اصبح عَصيدَهْ

Let us be happy with it, do not delay, for the situation has become difficult

وَ جَاوَتْني امْحليْلهْ وَبِنْتُهَا وَالحَفِيدَهْ

Wa jāwatnī amḥalīlah wa bintuhā wal-ḥafīdah

And she answered me, the beautiful one, and her daughter, and the granddaughter

تَشْكِي مِنَ الشَّيْخِ مَطْلُوبْ مِنْ لولَه ذي تُديرَهْ

Tashkī min al-shaykh Maṭlūb min lawlah dhī tudīrah

Complaining about Sheikh Matloub, from the first one who manages her

بحقْدها ذي تقوله صدْق كَلَامِ المَكِيدَهْ

Biḥiqdihā dhī taqūluhu ṣidq kalām al-makīdah

With her malice that she speaks, truly the words of the cunning woman

حُما عَلَى الشَّيْخِ حُما يَا أَهْلَ العُقولِ الرَّشيدَهْ

Protect the Sheikh, protect him, O people of sound minds

كلام كَيْديّ يَصُْدَقْ مِنْ نَائبَهْ وَالعَميدَهْ).

Cunning words are believed from his deputy and the dean

يَا غَارَةَ اللهِ غَيْرِي من قلبها ذه شَديدَهْ

Yā ghārat Allāhi ghayrī min qalbuhā dhah shadīdah

O God's wrath, change her, for her heart is severe

و صل يسْرقٓ مُنَى اخته ذي رَحْمَتْه في الكَبِيدَهْ

Wa ṣal yusriq Munā ukhtuhu dhī raḥmatuhu fī al-kabīdah

And he came to steal from Muna, his sister, whom he pitied in his liver

مَنْ أَمَنَكَ لَا تخونْه قَالَ المَثَل ذِهْ أَكِيدَهْ

Man amanaka lā takhūnhu qāl al-mathal dhī akīdah

Whoever trusts you, do not betray him, this proverb is certain

من خَان لَا كانْ يَا خي بَيشلُّ رَبِّي لَه أيدَهْ

Man khān lā kān yā akhī bayashullu Rabbī lahu yadahu

Whoever betrays, may he not exist, O brother, my Lord will take his hand

بَطْني نَظيفَه ونا ادري أَمَّا الحَرَامَ مَا نُريدَهْ

Baṭnī naẓīfah wa anā adrī ammā al-ḥarāma mā nurīdah

My stomach is clean, and I know that we do not want what is forbidden

مِنْ عزّهْ أَخْبَارْ جَاتْني لَعْنَه عَلَيْهَا الحَقيدْه

From her arrogance, news came to me, a curse upon that hateful woman

تُشَوِّهَ اسْمي بِسَرقه هيَ فَدْوه اسْمي وَعيدَهْ

She slanders my name with theft, she is a sacrifice for my name and my Eid

إِنِّي مُنَى بِنْت أَبوهَا دَمي جَرَى مِنْ وَريدَهْ

Innī Munā bint abūhā damī jarā min warīdah

I am Muna, daughter of her father, my blood flows from his vein

الكلّ يَعْرِفْ وَيَدْري لَوْ تَنْشره فَالجَريده

Everyone knows and understands, even if you publish it in the newspaper

أَنَا شَريفَه عَفيفَه وَنَا كَريمَه وَجيدَهْ

I am honorable, chaste, generous, and good

عَيَّنت هَلْ بَا يَقول الشَّيْخ يَكْفي وَاليدهْ

I appointed, will the Sheikh say enough, and his father?

مِسْكين شَمَخْ أَبوهَا وَهْيهْ كَانتْ كَميدهْ

Miskīn Shamakh abūhā wa hiya kānat kamīdah

Poor Shamakh, her father, and she was distressed

كَثعْل خَانسْ وَقَامسْ قَطَّه بِسيمَهْ وَحيدَهْ

Like a fox, sneaky and diving, he threw her with a single mark

قَالوا بِعزَّهْ تَروجْ سَرقَات فيني عَديدَهْ

They said with arrogance, she promotes many thefts against me

الحُكم حكْمكَ إِلَاهي وَحْكْم بِمَا ذَا تريدَهْ

Al-ḥukm ḥukmuka ilāhī wa ḥukm bimā dhā turīduh

The judgment is Your judgment, my God, judge as You wish

سَلِّطْ عَلَيْهَا بَلَاهَا سَالِكْ بَطَاها وَزيدَهْ

Unleash Your affliction upon her, I ask You to prolong and increase it

غَاره سَريعَةْ إِلَاهي حَاشَاهْ يُخْلِفْ وَعيدَهْ

A swift raid, my God, far be it from Him to break His promise

هَا لَا هنَا خَتْم قَوْلِي لِلهِ بَشْكي وَأَشِيدَهْ

Hā lanā hunā khatm qawlī lillāhi bashkī wa ashīduh

Here ends my speech, to God I complain and praise Him

لِلهِ يُرْسِلْ وَنَسْخَةْ توصل لِطَاهَا نُعيدَهْ

To God He sends, and a copy reaches Taha, we repeat it

صَلَاةْ تَغْشَى المُشَفَّعْ طَاها بِخَتْمِ القَصيدَهْ

Prayers cover the intercessor, Taha, with the conclusion of the poem

صَلَاهْ لَا يَحْتَصيهَا كَاتب كَتَبَ في نَشيدَه

Ṣalāh lā yaḥtaṣīhā kātib kataba fī nashīdah

Prayers that no writer who wrote in his anthem can count

​قُولو لبو اسما سلَامي مَا تَقَارَحينَ الضَّخيرَه🌹🌹

Qūlū li-Abū Asmā salāmī mā taqāraḥīna al-dhakhīrah 🌹🌹

Tell Abu Asma my greetings, you do not ignite the ammunition 🌹🌹

حَنينُ مَا حَنَّ قَلْبي منْ ذَا وَهَذَا خَبيرَه 🌹🌹

Ḥanīnu mā ḥanna qalbī min dhā wa hādhā khabīrah 🌹🌹

My heart did not yearn from this or that expert 🌹🌹

بَكْسيشْ يَا ُختي ضَمَاري مِنْ بَزّ غَالي حَريرَه🌹🌹

Baksīsh yā ukhtī ḍamārī min bazz ghālī ḥarīrah 🌹🌹

A gift, my sister, my conscience, from precious silk 🌹🌹

بَدَعْت بك يَا إِلَاهي يَا مَنْ لِعَبْدِكَ نَصيرَه 🌹🌹

I began with You, my God, O You who are a helper to Your servant 🌹🌹

حدَّ البَلَا يَا إِلَاهي وَأَهْلَ الحيَل وَالشَّريرَه 🌹🌹

Ḥadd al-balā yā ilāhī wa ahl al-ḥiyal wa al-sharīrah 🌹🌹

The extent of affliction, my God, and the people of tricks and evil 🌹🌹

بِجٰاه طَاها حَبيبي يَا سَعْدَ مَنْ هوَ نَذيرَه 🌹🌹

By the prestige of Taha, my beloved, how happy is he who is his Warner 🌹🌹

وَبَعْد حَيَّا مَرَاحبْ مَمْنوبْ يَزْجل صَفيرَه 🌹🌹

And after, welcome, welcome, a grateful one whistles 🌹🌹

حَيَّا مَرَاحبْ ببو أسماء مثْلَ المَطَرِ في غزيرَه 🌹🌹

Ḥayyā marāḥib bi-Abū Asmā mithl al-maṭar fī ghazīrah 🌹🌹

Welcome, welcome to Abu Asma, like abundant rain 🌹🌹

يَا وَرْدَ غَالي و شمشمْ ويَا سِلَا كلِّ ديرَه 🌹🌹

Yā ward ghālī wa shamsham wa yā silā kulli dīrah 🌹🌹

O precious rose and jasmine, and O comfort of every land 🌹🌹

ببخَرشْ عودَةْ أَصْلي وَمِسْكٌ خَلْطَةْ ذريره🌹🌹

I will perfume you with original oud and a mixture of musk powder 🌹🌹

أَنْتي سَلَا قَلْبِ أَبو أَحْمَدْ يَا خَيْتَمة في يَمينَهْ 🌹🌹

Antī silā qalb Abū Aḥmad yā khaytamatun fī yamīnih 🌹🌹

You are the comfort of Abu Ahmad's heart, O seal in his right hand 🌹🌹

وَالخَتْم صلُّوا عَلَى أَحْمدْ مَوْلئ البَدَاهْ النَّويره🌹🌹

And finally, pray for Ahmad, the master of the bright beginning 🌹🌹

​يَا مَرْحَبَا البَدع ذي جاء وَمَرحبَا في الأَخيره 🌹

Welcome to the beginning that came, and welcome at the end 🌹

أَبْيَات قوه وشَهْد منْهَا البدَن قشْعَريره 🌹

Powerful verses and honey from which the body shivers 🌹

ذي بَا يطَقْطق يطَقطق فَخَيْرَة اللهِ خيْره 🌹

Dhī bā yaṭaqṭaq yaṭaqṭaq fa-khayrat Allāhi khayrah 🌹

Whoever wants to make noise, let him make noise, for God's choice is good 🌹

سَلَامُ منِّي مَهْد شْ وَمَا أَمْطَرَتْ مِنْ مُثيرَه 🌹

Salāmun minnī mahd sh wa mā amṭarat min muthīrah 🌹

Greetings from me, a gift, and what it rained from a stimulant 🌹

للْأَخ وَالْأُخْت يَوْصَلْ بعود غالي سَعيره 🌹

To the brother and sister it reaches, with precious burning oud 🌹

عَلَيْهم الفلُّ رشّوا وَ
