يَا يَمَنَ العِزِّ وَفَخْرَ الأُمَمِ lyrics

يَا يَمَنَ العِزِّ وَفَخْرَ الأُمَمِ

O Yemen, glory and pride of nations,

يَا مَنَارَ المَجْدِ مُنْذُ القِدَمِ

Yā manār al-majdī mundhu al-qidamī,

O beacon of glory since ancient times,

عِشْتَ يَا مَهْدَ المَعَالِي سَالِماً

May you live, O cradle of nobility, safe and sound,

رَايَةً تَعْلُو بِكُلِّ القِمَمِ

A banner rising to every summit.

قَدْ بَعَثْنَا الفَجْرَ فِيكَ عَالِياً

We have sent forth the dawn in you, high,

بِسَوَاعِدْ كَالبِنَاءِ المُحْكَمِ

With arms like a strong structure.

يَمَنٌ حُرٌّ جَدِيدٌ نَبْنِيهِ

Yamanun ḥurrun jadīdun nabnīhi,

A free, new Yemen we are building,

بِالضِّيَاءِ وَالهُدَى وَالقَلَمِ

With light, guidance, and the pen.

وَاتَّحَدْنَا أُمَّةً وَاحِدَةً

Wa-ttaḥadnā ummatan wāḥidatan,

And we united as one nation,

مِنْ شَمَالٍ جَارَ فِيكَ لِلْفَمِ

Min shamālin jāra fīka lil-famī.

From north to south, reaching your mouth.

كُلُّ شِبْرٍ فِي حِمَاكَ غَالِيٌ

Kullu shibrin fī ḥimāka ghāliyun,

Every inch in your protection is precious,

نَفْتَدِيهِ بِالقلوبٍ والدِّمِ

Naftadīhi bil-qulūbi wad-dimī.

We sacrifice for it with hearts and blood.

قَدْ طَوَيْنَا لَيْلَ حُزْنٍ عَابِرٍ

We have folded the night of passing sorrow,

وَأَضَأْنَا نُورَ عَهْدٍ بَاسِمِ

And lit the light of a smiling era.

يَا بِلادَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ وَالوَفَا

O land of prophets and loyalty,

يَا أَرِيجاً طَيِّباً كَالبَلْسَمِ

Yā arījan ṭayyiban kal-balsamī.

O fragrant scent, good as balm.

صَنْعَاءُ تَبْقَى فِي العُلَا شَامِخَةً

Sana'a remains majestic in its height,

وَعَدْن تَشْدُو بِلَحْنٍ مَلْهَمِ

And Aden sings with an inspiring melody.
