Kanat btis'alni 'amil eh

She used to ask me 'How are you?'

وأنا يومي يحلى بصوتها

W ana yomi yihla bi-sout'ha

And my day would brighten with her voice

لو تغيب عني كام ساعة

Law taghib 'anni kam sa'a

If she was absent for a few hours

أفضل مستني أشوف رسالتها

Afḍal mistanni ashouf risaltaha

I'd keep waiting to see her message

Ya khasara al-ḥubb illi kan

W aqul ma'lesh yumkin ta'bana

And I'd say 'Never mind, maybe she's tired'

لحد ما جه يوم الفراق

Liḥadd ma gah yom al-firaq

Until the day of separation came

قالت خلاص مفيش اتفاق

Qalat khalas mafish ittifaq

She said, 'That's it, there's no agreement'

وقفت ساكت مش لاقي كلام

Waqaft saket mish laqi kalam

I stood silent, couldn't find words

بعد ما كنت ليها الأمان

Ba'd ma kunt liha al-aman

After I was her safety

يا خسارة الحب اللي كان

Ya khasara al-ḥubb illi kan

يا خسارة أحلى زمان
