بسمة تبسملت ذي خلا المطر قطرات

A smile that made raindrops fall

ومن قطرتة سيلت فالارض ودياني

And from its drops, valleys flowed in the land

ثم احمدة مـاتلوا يـاسين والحجرات

Then I praise Him as I recite Yasin and Al-Hujurat

واسـالـه المـغـفرة قـادر كـريـمـاني

And I ask Him for forgiveness, the capable, the generous

وحين اكتب الشعر جنبني من الهفوات

And when I write poetry, keep me from mistakes

ومـن كـل حـاسـد ينجيني ويـرعـانـي

And from every envious person, protect me and care for me

الشعر عند العرب وجبة من الوجبات

Poetry among Arabs is one of the meals

وانـا هـاجسي مـا قـد اتـأخر بقيفاني

And my poetic spirit has never been late with my verses

يترجم شعوري بمقطع من عدد كلمات

It translates my feelings in a passage of a few words

ويـقـول اذي مـا قـدرت انطق بلساني

And says what I couldn't utter with my tongue

قم يامعنّى على محكومة الربلات

Get up, O afflicted one, on a controlled vehicle

شـاصٍ جديدة وكالة صـنـع ياباني

A new, agency-made Japanese 'Shas'

لا حط بة صاحبة واقبل على لبنات

When its owner gets in and approaches the girls

يخـلي الـخَـط كـلـة كـن هـو سـاني

He makes the whole road as if he is Sani

ما هـم لفة ولا يخشى مـن الميلات

He doesn't care about turns and doesn't fear inclines

يـلـز بـة لـز فـي ثـالـث وفـي ثـانـي

He pushes it hard in third and in second gear

توايرة عرض لا الحفرة ولا الجنيات

Its tires are wide, neither potholes nor genies

تـهـز شـاصـة ولا حـتـى الـسـلـيماني

Shake its chassis, not even the Sulaimani

لا عند ذي ما يجد مثلة في الفتيَات

To the one who has no equal among young women

تـقـول مـاهـو يـمـانـي كـنـة لـبـناني

You'd say she's not Yemeni, as if she's Lebanese

انا من نظرتة وانا اتعذب من الصدمات

From the moment I saw her, I've been tormented by shocks

واضـل افـكر فية والحوم يـحـداني

And I keep thinking of her, and longing drives me

كني تـكـهربت واتـعـرضت للشحنات

As if I was electrocuted and exposed to charges

بـلاه ربـي بحبي مثل مـا ابـلانـي

May God afflict her with my love as He has afflicted me

لا زال صـوتـة بيتردد فـي الطبلات

Her voice still echoes in the eardrums

في حضرتة ذي نحسبة زين سوداني

In her presence, whom we consider beautiful Sudanese

زينه مـن الله لا خلـطة ولا وصفات

Her beauty is from God, no mixtures or recipes

كـنـه مـن الحور حسنه حسن ربـاني

As if she's from the houris, her beauty is divine

صـوّب فؤادي وصوبي لـد بالنظرات

She struck my heart, and my aim was met with glances

وَاطلق سـهامـة عـلـى قلبي وكـوانـي

And she shot her arrows at my heart and branded me

احرمني النوم واقضي ليلتي سهرات

She deprived me of sleep, and I spend my nights awake

اسـامـر النجم وشكي لـه بما اعـاني

I converse with the stars and complain to them about what I suffer

اتوسق الموت واعاني من السكرات

I anticipate death and suffer its agonies

ولا اتـقـبل خـبـر مـوتـي ولا احياني

And I don't accept the news of my death, nor my life

قـولـوا له الـوضـع مـزري اخـر الفترات

Tell him the situation is miserable in recent times

واتقسموا كـل شـبـر اقـلـيـم سـكـانـي

And they divided every inch into a populated region

شلوا على الشعب حقة ودوا الازمات

They took the people's rights and brought crises

وصـنـفـونـا الـى امـريـكي وايـرانـي

And classified us as American and Iranian

معاش المواطن قده للي في الجبهات

The citizen's salary is for those on the front lines

واحـنـا لـنـا الله يـامـدعـوج الاعياني

And we have God, O dark-eyed one

لا عاد تطمح طموحك فالبلد غلطات

Do not aspire anymore, your aspirations in this country are mistakes

لا طـب لا هـنـدسـة لا امـن سـبرانـي

No medicine, no engineering, no cyber security

يرفع الله ذي اوتوا العلم في درجات

God raises those who have knowledge in ranks

وفـي اليمن مـن يطلب العلم علماني

And in Yemen, whoever seeks knowledge is secular

توَكل على الله وتجاوز مـن العثرات

Trust in God and overcome the stumbles

حلفت مـا انساك مـا ظنيت تنساني

I swear I won't forget you, I don't think you'll forget me

ماميل عن حبك لو تقطعت لاوصلات

I won't turn away from your love, even if connections are severed

ولا بنثني لو يجيني منك ما جاني

And I won't back down, even if what comes to me from you comes

ومـا طـلـبـتة انــا بـا انـفـذ الـطـلبات

And what I asked for, I will fulfill the requests

ولا ابـاك تسمع كـلام العاذل الشاني

And I don't want you to listen to the words of the blaming hater

هايم بحبك وذي برمي به الجمرات

I am madly in love with you, and those who throw stones at it

وش با يضرك اذا ضحيت من شاني

What harm would it do you if I sacrificed for your sake?

مالك ومال المسابح لقط الحسَنَات

What do you have to do with prayer beads, collecting good deeds?

كن انتة ادخلت فالاسلام نصراني

As if you brought a Christian into Islam
